Pakistan : Pakistan Railways imports 55 U.S. locomotives

The National Assembly has been told that Pakistan Railways has recently bought 55 locomotives from the United States to further enhance its service.
Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Shah informed the House in question hour that that they had taken delivery of 32 locomotives while remaining 23 are in transit and expected to arrrive in Karachi by end of July this year.
He said a tender of a further 20 locomotives has been concluded and letter of intent has been released in favor of General Electric, US.
The Parliamentary Secretary said that the Karachi-Peshawar main track will be upgraded under the billions of dollars CPEC project.
