Peru : MTC signs contract for the acquisition of 125 modular bridges

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through its Decentralized Provias executing unit (PVD), signed Contract No. 233-2018-MTC / 21, for the acquisition of 125 modular bridges, which will be installed in 14 regions of the country.

According to the results of the Public Bid No. 04-2018-MTC / 2, the Portuguese capital company Berd Projecto Investigacao e Engenharia de Pontes S.A, was the winner of the Good Pro, with a proposal amounting to S / 57'355.220

Modular structures will improve land connectivity in the regions of: Amazonas, Huanuco, Apurimac, Arequipa, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Junin, Ica, Ucayali, San Martin, Puno, Pasco and Loreto. The installation of the first batch is foreseen for the beginning of April.

These bridges, also called Bailey, stand out for the capacity they have to support a large load, as well as for the speed of their installation and durability over time.

Carlos Revilla, Executive Director of PVD highlighted the importance of this acquisition to improve connectivity in 14 regions of the country, "The work that is done from the MTC is constant and is focused on ensuring greater physical integration in the country, improving connectivity road, because this way, the population is given the possibility of moving in less time and with a higher quality and safety, all of which impacts on their well-being "he emphasized.
