Peru : MTC opens window to develop infrastructure projects via APP for more than US $ 3,800 million

In order to boost the execution of infrastructure projects that improve the connectivity of Peruvians, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) opened a window that will allow the execution of works such as the Lima-Ica Railway and the Third Group of Airports located in Junn, Hunuco, Cajamarca, Moquegua, ncash, San Martn, Hunuco and Loreto.

These projects will be executed under the mechanism of Public Private Partnership (PPP) and the modality of Co-financed Private Initiatives. They will involve investments of more than US $ 3,800 million.

In accordance with Supreme Decree N 021-2018-MTC, published in El Peruano, the period of preparation and presentation of private initiatives co-financed on projects in transport infrastructure will be three months (until the end of March 2019) and in the next 30 business days, the bidders must submit their proposals to Proinversin (before May 15).

It should be noted that the Lima - Ica Railway consists of the construction, operation and maintenance of a 323Km passenger and freight train, with intermediate stations between the cities of Lima and Ica, at a maximum speed of 200 km / h. This railroad will have state-of-the-art rolling stock for the service and will be integrated into the Lima Meter System and the investment amount amounts to US $ 3,263.9 million.

Regarding the project "Third Group of Airports" consists of the operation and maintenance of the eight regional airports, the modernization of the facilities on the land side as passenger terminals, the improvement of the infrastructure of the air side as runways, runways taxeo, aircraft parking platform. The investment amount will be US $ 600 million.
