On March 23, during President Xi Jinpings state visit to Italy and witnessed by the leaders of the two countries, Chinese Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan and Italian Minister of Economic Development Luigi Di Maio signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Commerce of Peoples Republic of China and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Italy on Electronic Commerce Cooperation.

According to the MOU, the two countries will share experience on management and policy formulating, promote local cooperation and dialogues between the government and the private, conduct joint research and personnel training, encourage the enterprises to carry out e-commerce communications and cooperation, and jointly improve the service level of tourism leisure industry.

China-Italy economic, trade and culture communication enjoy a long history, and the two countries are each others important trade partner. The signing of the MOU will further improve the level of trade facilitation and cooperation of the two countries, injecting new vitality into bilateral economic and trade relation.
