The signing ceremony of the Sectoral Pacts for Competitiveness and Internationalization between the Ministry of Economy and three Clusters recognized by the Interface Program will be chaired tomorrow by the Prime Minister, Antnio Costa, and the Deputy Minister of Economy, Pedro Siza Vieira.
These Covenants aim to mobilize civil society for a common strategy and mission, associated with the dynamics of networking, leading to the development of collaborative initiatives aimed at achieving common goals.
In the Lumiar Campus (Lisbon) Sectorial Pacts for Competitiveness and Internationalization will be signed with Portuguese AgroFood Cluster, Health Cluster Portugal and Cluster AEC-Architecture, Engineering and Construction, which counts 59 associates.
The Portuguese AgroFood Cluster, with 466 associates, operates in the agri-food sector, which is responsible for about 112 thousand jobs and 16 billion euros turnover, with exports rising to 6 billion euros.
With 172 associates, Health Cluster Portugal belongs to the health sector, which has 279,000 jobs and 27,000 million euros in turnover, of which 1,400 million euros is destined for exports. The sector is characterized by a rapid development, with a notable evolution in scientific production and R & D investment amounting to 462 million euros, representing 10.5% of total business investment in R & D in Portugal.
The AEC Cluster - Architecture, Engineering and Construction (59 associates) belongs to a group responsible for more than 551,729 jobs and a turnover of 37.48 billion euros, representing around 20% of GDP.
Under the Interface Program, launched in 2017, the Government recognized competitiveness clusters from various sectors. These platforms, which aggregate knowledge and skills, now play a central role in industrial policy and the Portuguese economy, and have contributed significantly to strengthening the country's competitiveness.
For Wednesday is expected to sign three more Pacts in Leiria.
