India : Kingfisher owes over Rs.279 crores to the AAI

India\'s private Kingfisher airlines is liable to pay more than Rs.279 crores towards landing, parking and licence fee to the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh has informed the Rajya Sabha (upper house of the Indian Parliament) that the AAI is continuously monitoring the situation to make sure that private airlines pay their dues in time.
In events of default in payment by the carriers, penal interest is charged and the facility to avail loans is withdrawn.
