Telekom Slovenije declared that it will introduce its own TV channel in autumn 2012.
It is expected that the channel will air UEFA Champions League matches, for which the telecommunications operator has acquired the rights for the next three seasons.
Telekom Slovenije managed to outbid Pro Plus, which owns the Pop TV and Kanal A TV channels in Slovenia, as per the sources.
Telekom Slovenije is also planning to acquire the TV rights for the transmission of Slovenian football league games. The whole project, which is managed by Telekom Slovenije subsidiary TSmedia, is worth an estimated EUR 10 million.
