Australia : OPTUS inks MoU with VODAFONE HUTCHISON AUSTRALIA to share mobile site

Optus announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) for sharing 3G and 4G mobile site.
As per the MoU, both the companies will together establish up to 500 new sites.
On the other hand, Optus will be the exclusive roaming partner for VHA customers in selected regional areas over a period of 5-year from April 2013.
Vodafone stated that the deal will provide it access to some 400 Optus base station sites, while Optus will gain around 1,000 additional sites
The joint venture network arrangement seeks approval from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
