Publish Date : 31-May-2019

Silliman University (SU) officials led by its President Dr. Betty McCann together with its partners, business couple Lawyer Edilberto Bravo and Dr. Felina Bravo, officiated the ground breaking ceremony of SU Business Incubation Facility in Sibulan town last May 22, 2019.

The said facility will cover 1.5 hectares of land and will be built inside the Fel & Bert Bravo Technopreneur Park in Barangay San Antonio.

SU - Officer of Information and Publications Director Madeleine Quiamco said the facility will offer services to foster technological innovation and entrepreneurial talent, as well as develop innovative products and services that will contribute to economic growth and progress in the country.

Aside from donating a track of land inside their technopreneur park, the Bravos have also committed to donate P100 million for the construction of business incubation facility.

Dr. McCann expressed her gratitude to their partners for engaging with them in this endeavor noting that the event is a confluence of forces.

Silliman cant do it all alone; we need the network of Dr. Fel, the resources of Atty. Bert. So that together, we can do more, Dr. McCann remarked.

Through this endeavor, SU and the Bravos hope to contribute more in the countrys economic development.

There can be no better investment that we could make for the youth than education, Atty. Bravo told the attendees of the ceremony.

I come from a family of teachers; my wife, too, comes from a family of teachers, he added stressing his belief in education.

Other SU officials present during the groundbreaking ceremony were Vice President for Development Prof. Jane Annette Belarmino, former SU president Dr. Ben Malayang III, Prof. Janice Antoniette Forster, and SU Church pastor Rev. Dr. Noriel Capulong.

Some members of the Bravo and Aldecoa families, and others involved in the project also attended the event.
