GE is been contracted to supply 38 wind turbines for four wind projects which are together known as Darlowo Wind Energy Center-Phase Two which is under construction in Northern Poland. GE\'s 2.5MW class wind turbines with 103m rotors will be installed at the project.
Phase Two of Darlowo features the Boryszewo, Krupy, Stary Jaroslaw and Nowy Jaroslaw facilities having a total generating capacity of 175MW.
Invenergy Wind is working in association with Enerco for developing the wind energy generation projects in the region.
President and chief executive officer of Invenergy, Michael Polsky said, \"The Darlowo Wind Energy Center is a wonderful example of Poland embracing the economic and environmental benefits of its wind energy resources.\"
According to Stephan Ritter, GE general manager renewable energy business in Europe, Darlowo is the outcome of regional association between Invenergy and GE. Ritter further added, \"Due to the scale of the project, we are establishing a service center in Darlowo to ensure the long-term reliability and performance of our wind turbines.\"
Turbines will be assembled at GE\'s manufacturing unit in Salzbergen, Germany and will enter into commercial operation during the fourth quarter of 2012.
