Publish Date : 05-Aug-2019

EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced that it has been awarded the Great Lakes Architect and Engineer Services II (GLAES II) contract by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Under this contract, EA will continue to provide professional architect/engineer, technical, and management services to EPAs Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO). The Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract has a 5-year period of performance and a maximum capacity of $25 million.

Specifically, work that may be performed under this IDIQ contract includes support of contaminated sediment evaluations, remedial design activities, habitat evaluations and restoration designs, and oversight of contaminated sediment remediation projects. Activities may include site characterizations, remedial investigations, risk and impact assessments, feasibility and treatability studies, pilot tests, engineering services, construction support, community outreach, technical support, fieldwork, and remedial action oversight. In addition, EA will be responsible for providing analytical support, data validation, and data management.

EA is excited to have this opportunity to continue to leverage our expertise in developing economical and environmentally sustainable solutions to address impaired rivers, harbors, and bays throughout the Great Lakes, stated Fritz Meyer, P.E., Executive Vice President and Director, Client Programs. Our talented team will continue to work on behalf of GLNPO as part of its strategy to provide a healthy, natural Great Lakes environment for swimming and fishing and restore habitat to protect native species.

EA was awarded this contract as a small business under North American Industry Classification System Code 562910, Environmental Remediation Services, with a small business size standard of less than 750 employees. EA was awarded the predecessor contract in 2011, which was also a small business set-aside. Under that contract, EA was awarded 35 task orders valued at over $23.5 million. Notable projects included the Former Zephyr Refinery Fire Suppression Ditch project in Michigan, which received the Western Environmental Dredging Associations 2019 Environmental Excellence Award for Environmental Dredging; Lincoln Park Phase 2 Sediment Cleanup Design project in Wisconsin, which was recognized with a 2017 Engineering Excellence Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies; and the Former Duluth Works and Spirit Lake Sediment Site project located in Minnesota.
