Afghanistan is expected to sign a long term strategic co-operation agreement with Germany.
The Afghan President Hamid Karzai has departed from Kabul for an official visit to Germany and the US.
The President is accompanied by a high level official delegation comprising Afghan Foreign Minister Dr. Zalmai Rosoul and Defence Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak.
During the initial leg of his visit the Afghan President will meet the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Germany and discuss with her matters of bilateral, regional and global significance.
