Vietnam : WB, Da Nang sign MoU on strategic connectivity

Dang Nang and the World Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic connectivity in the 2019-2025 period in the central city on September 6.
Under the MoU, bilateral cooperation will focus on such as areas like socio-economic development planning, public financial management, sustainable urban development (transport, energy, water supply), environmental protection, and competitive workforce development.
Both sides will also develop mechanisms for strategic discussions, knowledge sharing, and mobilization of resources.
Da Nang is a dynamic and fast-growing city and it will take the lead in urban development, climate change adaptation, and innovation, said Ousmane Dione, World Bank Country Director.
He expressed his pleasure that both sides have inked the MoU to lift up cooperation to new height.
Cooperation between Da Nang and the World Bank dated back to 20 years ago and the latter has provided loans worth US$500 million to the city.
