The investment will expand the bandwidth and availability of the necessary voice, video and data services at the stations and substations of the lines
The objective is to improve the quality of railway communications and optimize existing resources to offer the best service to users and circulations
Adif has approved the award of the supply contract for the expansion of the communications platform in the Neighborhood Networks of Bilbao and Irn, for a total amount of 672,560.74 euros (VAT included) and an execution period of 4 months. The winning company has been Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios.
The objective of this investment is to increase the bandwidth and availability of the necessary voice, video and data services at the stations and substations of the metropolitan railway lines of Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Navarra. This project affects the Bilbao-Santurtzi (C-1), Barakaldo-Muzkiz (C-2) and Bilbao-Ordua (C-3) lines in Bizkaia, and the Irun-Brinkola C-1, in Gipuzkoa, with extension up to the Navarra station of Altsasu / Alsasua.
This extension of the bandwidth will allow to provide services to the different addresses of Adif together with the railway operators, and in turn will enable them to cover the service needs that must be offered to the railway user.
These services are those of the railway operation (supervision and remote control of energy and control of railway traffic), as well as those of stations (access control systems, chronometry, intercom, public address system, teleindicators and remote controls), video surveillance (closed circuits of television), ticket sales, etc.
With this new equipment, the quality, efficiency and safety of telecommunications is improved to offer the best service to users and circulations.
The contract includes the supply of network equipment, commissioning and integration into Adif management systems.
