The construction of a connection for the supply to the future electrical substation of El Prat de Llobregat will be carried out, with an award amount exceeding 1 million euros VAT included
Adif has awarded a new contract that is part of the actions to improve the electrification system in the Rodalies de Catalunya network. Specifically, it includes the construction of a 25 kV connection to the new electric traction substation in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona), on the Barcelona-Vilanova and la Geltr-Sant Vicen de Calders line.
The works, awarded to the company Sociedad Espaola de Montajes Industriales for an amount of 1,040,765.5 euros (VAT included) and an estimated execution period of 6 months, include the execution of a high voltage line to feed the future substation that will be located at this point allowing its commissioning. The works include civil works, electrical works, wiring, tests and tests.
The substations are essential infrastructures to guarantee a correct provision of the railway operation and its function is to transform the energy from the supply companies, adapting it to the characteristics that require the type of electrification of the overhead contact line, the security and communications facilities and other rail system devices they feed.
