The World Bank will support the modernization of the public procurement system in the Republic of Moldova. A statement to this effect was made by the World Bank Country Manager for Moldova, Anna Akhalkatsi, during a meeting with the Minister of Finance, Natalia Gavrili a.
The ministry management briefly reviewed the issues facing public procurement, as well as the measures taken to remedy them. "Currently, we are working on adjusting the legislation and harmonizing it with that of the European Union, as well as developing the law that will regulate purchases in the utilities sector," said Natalia Gavrilita.
For his part, the World Bank Country Manager for Moldova, Anna Akhalkatsi, said that the institution he represents will assist in the modernization of several government services, including those related to public procurement. "We have an international team of expertise and we can provide support in implementing these reforms," concluded the World Bank country manager.
