At the meeting between the G-8 countries in the US, President Obama is expected to announce a new public-private partnership funding to deal with the issue of food security especially in the developing countries along with market mechanisms to boost production particularly in Africa.
The heads of Benin, Ethiopia, Ghana and Tanzania have been invited to participate in the talks.
G-8 nations, African countries, aid agencies and multinational companies will also participate in, what will be called, the New Alliance for Food and Nutrition Security.
