The actions will be carried out at the Astorga, Brauelas, Albares, Ponferrada, Quereo, Villamartn de Valdeorras and Pobra de Brolln stations, where a level crossing will also be suppressed
Adif has tendered, for an amount of 1,086,462.64 euros (VAT included), the contract for the drafting of construction projects for the extension of section roads up to 750 m of useful length in several stations of the Len-Monforte section de Lemos, in the conventional width line Len-A Corua.
The stations included in the project are those of Astorga, Brauelas, Albares, Ponferrada, Quereo, Villamartn de Valdeorras and Pobra do Brolln. In the latter, in addition, a level crossing will be suppressed.
The objective of this action is to extend up to 750 m one of the tracks in the mentioned stations so that freight trains of this length can be separated in it, leaving the general track free, given that the Len-A Corua line It is configured in a single way.
For the development of the work, a previous functionality analysis is planned, which will confirm the selected stations and will serve as a basis to coordinate the work with the rest of the subsystems involved (electrification, traffic control and signaling, etc.).
This project aims to boost freight traffic in the Len-Monforte de Lemos-Puerto de Vigo corridor, making possible the circulation of trains up to 750 m in length.
In addition, other expansion actions are being drafted in Vigo Guixar, As Gndaras Siding, Tui, Filgueira, Barbantes, Os Peares and Monforte de Lemos.
