Israel : DSIT wins contract for Portable Acoustic Range system

Publish Date : 12-Nov-2019

DSIT Solutions Ltd., a subsidiary of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., announced that it was selected by Energean Israel to supply its AquaShield Underwater Security System. The AquaShield system will safeguard Energeans Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit from underwater threats. The FPSO will be connected to Energeans Karish and Tanin gas reservoirs located offshore Israel.

AquaShield is an autonomous and automatic, high-performance, underwater Diver Detection Sonar (DDS) system. It is designed to provide permanent underwater security for high value coastal and offshore assets and critical infrastructure located along the coastline and offshore. AquaShield has advanced signal processing algorithms to automatically detect, track and classify all types of underwater threats with very low False Alarm Rate (FAR).

We would like to thank Energean for their vote of confidence in DSIT. Energean joins a growing list of energy companies from all sectors Oil, LNG and Electric that have chosen DSITs state-of-the-art solutions to monitor their vital assets. DSITs systems are already being used by European and Asian energy companies for the protection of oil terminals, power plants and oil platforms, said Hanan Marom, DSITs Vice President for Business Development and Marketing.

The AquaShield system has proven its performance in detecting divers and Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) in rough sea conditions. In its report on Diver Detection Sonars (DDS), Frost and Sullivan identified DSIT as the market leader for offshore infrastructure and coastal facilities, and the company that received the largest ever known contract for DDS for an oil company.

This transaction is indicative of DSITs global ongoing leading position in the field of underwater security systems, sonar and acoustics, said Gadi Leibovich, DSITs President & CEO, and added: The AquaShield system provides automatic detection of all types of threats, combination of very high Probability of Detection (PD) with very low False Alarm Rate (FAR), high reliability and real time continuous monitoring, all at competitive prices and tailored to specific user demands. We are proud of being a supplier of the renowned oil & gas corporation such as Energean and we look forward to delivering them our tailor-made solutions. DSIT is confident that this is the beginning of a successful partnership between the two companies and that this order will pave the way for the sale of additional systems from its cutting-edge portfolio to Energean, as well as to other valued customers worldwide.
