Singapore : Singapore inflation rises to 5.4% in April, driven by accommodation cost

Prices continued to rise sharply, on the back of transport and accommodation costs.
The CPI hit a four month high of 5.4 per cent last month, as economists warned that prices will continue to stay high in the next few months
The central bank and Trade and Industry Ministry said in a statement released on Wednesday that private road transport and accommodation accounted for more than two thirds of inflation in April.
But core inflation, which excludes private road transport and accommodation, rose at a slower pace of 2.7 per cent, compared with 2.9 per cent in March.
