Spain : Adif tenders infrastructure adaptation works in 14 km of the section Monforte de Lemos-Lugo
Publish Date : 26-Dec-2019
The contract refers to the treatment of infrastructure elements (bridges, embankments and trenches) for adaptation to the new high performance parameters
Adif has approved the tender for a contract for the treatment of infrastructure elements (bridges, embankments and trenches) in a section of approximately 14 km of the Monforte de Lemos-Lugo route, with a budget of 4,060,240.35 euros (VAT included ).
The contract includes the treatment of 14 bridges, an embankment and three trenches between kilometer points 361/143 and 375/305 of the Monforte-Lugo section.
The objective of the action is to improve the conditions of conservation and durability of the structures that, in turn, will adapt to the parameters of the new electrification of the section (currently not electrified).
The drainage of the infrastructure will also be improved, through the construction of new drainage elements and the cleaning and adaptation of existing ones.
Improvements in the Ourense-Monforte-Lugo railway route
The actions to improve the section in the Ourense-Monforte-Lugo service, in which this tender is framed, aim to fulfill Adif's commitments with the optimization of the commercial exploitation conditions of the path, in parameters such as reliability, comfort and travel times.
In addition, the A Pobra variant of San Xiao, between Monforte and Lugo, is already in service since April 2018. Among the main benefits of this new route, about 7 km long, it is worth mentioning the suppression of the 14 steps at the level of the previous route, with the consequent increase in rail, road and pedestrian safety, as well as the increase in the speed of Passage of trains up to 160 km / h.
