Spain : Adif is putting out to tender the renovation project for the access road to the internal port of Ferrol

The objective is to give continuity to the railway infrastructure of the Ferrol Port Authority, improving access to the internal port
The action is compatible with the future connection of railway access to the external port, currently in execution
Adif has approved the tender for a contract for the drafting of the renovation project for the access road to the internal port of Ferrol (A Corua).
The project covers the access branch to the internal port of Ferrol, between the railway station and kilometer point (PK) 1 + 180 of the branch, where the General Interest Railway Network (RFIG) currently ends and the port's railway infrastructure begins.
The purpose is to give continuity to the railway infrastructure of the Ferrol Port Authority, improving access to the internal port and in coordination with the future connection of rail access to the external port, currently in execution.
The tender budget for the contract is 907,500 euros (VAT included) and has an execution period of 12 months.
Functional study
The contract includes a functional study of the following sections:
- Gauges.
- Possibility of adding metric width (including the connection of metric width to mixed-Iberian + metric) in the routing to the branch within the station
- Electrification.
- Functional relationship with the Ferrol railway station.
- Evaluation of costs and profitability of the different alternatives.
The conclusions of the functional study will be reflected in at least two construction projects, object of this contract:
- Platform-track (and electrification, if applicable)
- Security and telecommunications facilities.
