Australia : AGL ENERGY secures A$130m flagship solar tender
Publish Date : 13-Jun-2012
Solar firm in Australia AGL Energy and its manufacturing associated have secured a solar Flagships tender worth A$130m for a project in New South Wales, Australia.
Operations are expected to commence in 2014.
Addition of the investment is been done with another A$40m of federal money for two universities to take up research on the Nyngan project and A$65m from the state.
According to Anthony Fowler of AGL, Nyngan will have 1.6 million panels.
\"The one at Nyngan will be the largest solar farm in the southern hemisphere. Solar for example, doesn’t produce any pollution, doesn’t have any impact, on the water supply, doesn’t radiate any light out of those panels so we don’t expect any significant community concerns.\"
