India : ALSTOM secures Rs 530 crore supply contract from BHEL

Alstom has obtained about Rs 530 crore (nearly $100 million) supply contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL).

As per this contract, Alstom will supply components and services for its 660MW supercritical boilers at NTPC sites of two units situated in Mouda.

These 660MW supercritical power boilers were awarded to BHEL under NTPC Bulk 660MW tender. Alstom holds license of supercritical technology of BHEL and is also partnering with BHEL for the implementation of the supercritical boiler projects as per Licence and Business Cooperation deals. Alstom will help with BHEL in designing the boilers and supply pressure parts of 660MW supercritical boilers, with pulverisers and airpreheater components. It will also help BHEL with technical advisors in the erection and commissioning of the units. Alstom will produce key components from its manufacturing facilities in Wellsville and Concordia in USA, as well as in Durgapur and Shahabad. The units are likely to be commissioned in 2016.
