United Kingdom : BT renews security contracts with Ministry of Defence

BT has renewed its security contracts with Ministry of Defence (MOD).
As the number of cyber threats is speedily rising, MOD has selected BT for a solution to put off, respond to and recover from attacks and exploitation attempts.
According to MOD, it discovered and blocked over 1,000 \"potentially serious\" attacks in 2010, which is more than twice the number in 2009.
Air commodore Tim Bishop, Head of service operations at MOD, said, \"Over the last 5 years we\'ve seen a significant rise in the number of threats to the UK\'s national security through cyberspace, so it is crucial that we look to constantly improve our defence mechanisms to meet those threats.\"
According to Neil Rogers, President of global government at BT Global Services, the move is a huge triumph for the company.
