Singapore : Singapore to focus on signing more double-taxation agreements
Publish Date : 24-Jul-2012
Singapore will focus on signing more double-taxation agreements (DTAs) and making compliance with tax rules easier.
The direction was outlined on Monday by Minister of State for Finance Josephine Teo, who added that \'Singapore is mindful of the need to provide a conducive environment for our businesses to invest and grow internationally\'.
Double-taxation agreements aim to help businesses operating overseas avoid having the same income taxed by two different countries.
As well, they provide an avenue for authorities to discuss cross-border taxation issues such as those relating to transfer pricing.
