China,Singapore : Sunpower bags S$9.72m contract

China-based heat transfer technology specialist Sunpower Group Limited announced on Monday that it has signed a contract worth 48.9 million yuan (S$9.72 million) with Hubei Fertiliser Company.
Hubei Fertiliser is the subsidiary of state-owned petroleum and petrochemical enterprise group China Petrochemical Corporation, or Sinopec, with a registered capital of 182 billion yuan.
Under the contract, its Jiangsu subsidiary will be supplying two coupling reactors for a glycol production demonstration unit with an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes to the fertiliser plant in 2013.
Sunpower says it sees future business opportunities in China\'s coal chemical industry as the country goes forward with its petrochemical industry restructuring and revitalization plan.
