According to TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®), construction is underway on the company’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus projects in Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, and Minnesota. As a result, more customers will have access to high-speed Internet services.
In Colorado, {TDS’ Delta County Tele-Comm, Inc.} TDS has hired Baer Communications out of Lawrence, Kan. to do the outside construction work. The project is scheduled to be completed by winter 2013. At that time, high speed Internet services should be available to nearly 550 customers in the Paonia area.
In Idaho, {TDS’ Potlatch Telephone Company} TDS has hired Summit Utilities Contractors LLC out of Lewiston, Idaho to do the outside construction work. The project is scheduled to be done in the summer of 2013. At that time, high speed Internet services should be available to about 300 customers in the Kendrick area.
In Indiana, {TDS’ Home Telephone Company, Inc.} TDS has hired JDH Contracting, Inc. out of Plainfield, Ind. to do the outside construction work. The project is scheduled to be done by the first part of 2013. At that time, high speed Internet services should be available to about 175 customers in the Waldron area.
In Minnesota, {TDS’ Arvig Telephone Company} MP Nexlevel out of Maple Lake, Minn. has been hired to do the outside construction work. The project is scheduled to be finished in the summer of 2013. At that time, high speed Internet services should be available to nearly 900 customers in the Pequot Lakes area.
TDS is receiving funding for the project from the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Utilities Service (RUS) as part of the ARRA.
