France based, Technip SA has won a license, supply of basic engineering package and an engineering and procurement services contract from Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) for the Refinery Off-Gas Cracker (ROGC) unit.

The awarded deal forms part of the expansion project taken up at RIL\'s Jamnagar refining and petrochemical complex in Gujarat, India. Integration of the ROGC unit would be done with RIL\'s Jamnagar refinery complex, using refinery off-gas as feedstock.

The produce from that plant would be further used as feedstock for the new downstream petrochemical plants.

The ROGC plant will make use of Technip\'s ethylene technology, such as its proprietary SMK furnaces technology.

Senior vice president of Technip Onshore Business, Nello Uccelletti, said, “Technip is one of the largest experienced contractors on licensing, designing and implementing grassroot mega-crackers for ethylene production. This contract reinforces our position as a major player in this field. We are delighted to work with RIL to deliver this world-scale project.”
