Singapore : Keppel in S$124m waste energy deal win
Publish Date : 04-Sep-2012
Keppel Seghers Belgium NV, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Integrated Engineering Ltd (KIE), together with its consortium has been awarded a PLN 333 million (approximately S$124 million) contract for a waste-to-energy combined heat and power project in Bialystok, Poland.
The contract was clinched by a consortium of Keppel Seghers, Budimex SA (Budimex) and CESPA Compania Espanola de Servicios Publicos Auxiliares SA (CESPA). Bialystok\'s municipal solid waste management company Uslugowo-Handlowo-Produkcyjne \"LECH\" awarded the contract.
Keppel Seghers will execute 49.6 per cent (by project value) of the work scope and supply its proprietary waste-to-energy (WTE) technology to the facility. The remaining work scope will be undertaken by its consortium partners , Budimex and CESPA.
\"This project in Bialystok will solidly position Keppel Seghers for a long term role in helping Poland meet its EU obligations, as well as expanding its energy recovery capacity in line with its national solid waste policy.\" said Tay Lim Heng, CEO of KIE.
