Publish Date : 05-Sep-2012
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been inked between Grupo Aeromexico (AM) and Delta Air Lines (DL) over the construction of an aircraft MRO facility in Queretaro, Mexico.
The firms said the new facility which will be jointly operated, will take over work now being implemented in Guadalajara and \"expand MRO capabilities.\"
The carriers added that the new plan\'s heavy maintenance capacity will be seven airplanes simultaneously.
The carriers intend to invest equally.
DL president Ed Bastian stated that \"efforts now move to begin constructing this facility that will usher in lower maintenance costs.\"
According to AM CEO Andres Conesa, the facility \"will consolidate and complement the heavy maintenance and overhaul services both carriers have offered at the Grupo Aeromexico maintenance base in Guadalajara over the last six years.\"
