Ashok Leyland and John Deere joint venture, Leyland Deere, has secured a contract for 20 units of the ‘435’ backhoe loaders from the Tamil Nadu Earth Moving Equipment Owners Welfare Association.

Company’s CEO, P. Ravishankar, said, “The product has been engineered to perform in Indian operating conditions and meet specific needs of Indian end-users.”

Production of the backhoe loader is being carried out at Leyland Deere’s plant located at Gummdipoondi near Chennai.

The Tamil Nadu Earth Moving Equipment Owners Welfare Association has around 700 members from the construction and earth moving equipment industry.
