The World Bank declared that it is planning to restart discussions on a $1.2 billion loan to Bangladesh for the construction of a bridge over the Padma River.
After the government introduced a slew of measures to address the lender\'s concerns about corrupt officials involved in the project, the bank announced this.
It is estimated that the project to encourage economic growth.
On 29th June, the bank had cancelled its loan, saying it had proof of a corruption conspiracy involving Bangladeshi officials and contractors involved with the project.
