Elbit Systems of America, wholly-owned US subsidiary, of the Israeli defense industry Elbit Systems has won a contract from Boeing.
Over a five-year period, the contract worth $17.5 million includes the redesign and upgrade of the Apache Block III AH-64D mission processor.
With the help of the Mission Processor, the Apache avionics and mission equipment will be able to take up complex networking and on-board computing assignments. The Apache Block III aircraft will also be able to feature emerging capabilities with much ease.
CEO and president of Elbit Systems of America, Raanan Horowitz, said, “The company’s mission processor is at the core of the Apache Block III Attack Helicopter, and provides Boeing and its U.S. Army customer an unparalleled level of computing power and capabilities. The upgrade program will guarantee that the Apache utilizes the latest in available processing technology. We are pleased to be a part of this important program, and look forward to working closely with both Boeing and the US Army in order to provide continued technological dominance to the fighter.â€
