United States : AAR renews contract with USTRANSCOM

A globally major contractor of aerospace, defense products and services, AAR Corp., has renewed a contract from the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) to continue its airlift support services for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) operations based in Afghanistan.
The contract\'s renewal forms a part of the deal offered to the firm in October, 2010, and is worth $161 million.
Under the new contract, AAR will continue its services to meet the U. S Military\'s Airlift demands by using two Sikorsky S-92, six Sikorsky S-61, and two Bell 214 ST10 helicopters.
The firm will additionally continue to support the U.S. NATO ( North Atlantic Treaty Organization ) operations in Afghanistan and U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) engaging its airlift operating entity by offering rotary-wing aircraft as well as fixed-wing support services. The aircraft assigned by AAR especially aim to carry personnel, cargo and mail while the support process provides personnel, tools and maintenance services.
