United States : SCRA Announces Rapid Ordnance Technology Prototyping Agreement

SCRA today announced that its applied R&D affiliate, ATI, has signed a five year renewal of its agreement with the National Warheads and Energetics Consortium (NWEC) to be their consortium management firm. In this role, ATI will assist NWEC in the planning and execution of a five-year, multi-project, $500 million ordnance technology development and prototype demonstration program. The program is funded under an overarching Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) between the NWEC and the Government. The OTA is executed by US Army Contracting Command - New Jersey Emerging Technologies Center on behalf of the Department of Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC). This agreement renews and extends a previous $700 million, seven-year agreement.
DOTC is a collaborative partnership of government, industry and academic organizations which serves as the focal point for ordnance system technology research and development. The collaboration, established by the Office of the Secretary of Defense, addresses the long-range science and technology objectives of the Department of Defense. NWEC, the industrial/academic component of DOTC, was established in August 2000 to quickly provide innovative ordnance technology solutions to meet the operational needs of the warfighter. A key feature of the enterprise is its ability to leverage the capabilities and investments of its constituents to maximize returns on investments through a collaborative joint planning and project execution process.
