Publish Date : 26-Dec-2012
Following the successful operation of eight units of solar power producing 16 MW of clean energy Deoghar and Saraikela, the Department of Energy (DoE) is looking to replicate this even more smartly.
The department has finally decided to hire a consultant proposing steps to tap renewable energy source in a way to add around 300 MW of power in eighteen months. The facelift and related work is also very much expected as newly drafted Energy Policy also has provision for installing solar parks and hubs across State.
Energy Secretary Vimal Kirti Singh said the work on this would dramatically move ahead with policy approval of cabinet.
He said : \'The Energy Policy is before Cabinet and likely to get cleared very soon. We have chalked out plans to setup solar parks on various locations in State to tap about 300 MW of solar power within one-and-half-year time. We are in process of appointing a consultant for finding out modalities involved\'.
