John Holland has today been awarded two contracts for major water infrastructure services on behalf of Sydney Water. John Holland will provide the project management services associated with Sydney Water’s Networks and Facilities Renewal Program (NFRP), as part of a joint venture with Lend Lease. The Project Management Service Provider (PMSP) joint venture, will manage Sydney Water’s projects through their lifecycle, from conception to commissioning and handover.
John Holland was also awarded a third contract extension for the Priority Sewerage Program (PSP) to deliver additional sewerage works to six communities in environmentally sensitive areas around Sydney. John Holland, as part of the award-winning PSP Alliance, will deliver program and project management, as well as design, procurement, delivery and commissioning works. Stage 3, which has a total budget of approximately $150 million, is required to be delivered over the next two years.
Group Managing Director Glenn Palin said the contract wins solidify John Holland’s position as an industry leader in the delivery of major public sector water and wastewater projects. “Today’s announcements are a testament to our unparalleled project management capabilities, as well as the high standards of work we provide for our clients,” Mr Palin said. “We look forward to further building on an already longstanding relationship with Sydney Water, and will ensure its obligations are met under all programs.” Energy & Resources Executive General Manager Brendan Petersen said water is a core competency for John Holland.
“We will engage our proven project planning and cost control systems to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of work required for Sydney Water to meet its obligations under the program,” he said. “Our Water & Enviro business focuses on client needs and objectives from the initial phases of each project. We recognise that different business drivers and environmental pressures create different requirements, and we work with our clients to deliver the best solutions.”
