Managing Director of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund Malik Salimgereyev has announced that a project to build a gas pipeline to Kazakhstan\'s northern regions will be launched in the coming year.
Salimgereyev said the project aims to supply gas by building the Kartaly-Tobol-Kokshetau-Astana gas pipeline. It was stated in the President\'s State-of-Union Address this year. So, this is the responsibility of KazMunaiGas. The design and estimate documentation is presently reaching completion and with availability of funds, the construction of the pipeline should start in 2013.
He informed that the pipeline\'s capacity will be 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
