United States : KVAERNER NAC won the contract to build gas-fired power plant in DELAWARE

Kvaerner North American Construction (Kvaerner NAC), a subsidiary of Norway-based Kvaerner won contract for the construction of a 309MW combined cycle gas-fired power plant in the capital of Delaware, US.
Under the contract awarded by Calpine Garrison, Kvaerner with its joint venture partner Parsons Brinckerhoff will build Garrison Energy Center, which will be located in Dover.
The joint venture will be led by Kvaerner NAC in performing the engineering, procurement and construction works, with a value to Kvaerner of about $100m to $120m.
The construction of the facility will be taken care of Kvaerner NAC and the design, procurement of the balance of station equipment and the commissioning will be undertaken by Parsons Brinckerhoff.
Garrison Energy Center will make use of highly efficient combined-cycle technology with sophisticated environmental controls. The project is likely to begin in early 2013 and is scheduled for completion in summer 2015.
