China : CSSC and CNOOC signs agreement to boost cooperation in offshore sector

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has signed a strategic agreement with China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) in Beijing to boost cooperation in the offshore sector.
CSSC said the two parties will reinforce cooperation in the R&D of offshore equipments and construction in response to China’s latest Five Year Plan on enhancing offshore exploration capabilities. Hu Wenming, president of CSSC said CNOOC’s increasing offshore development projects will become the core driving force of China’s offshore equipment industry.
Wang Yilin, President of CNOOC said the signing of the agreement is a significant milestone to the two group’s cooperation. Both the groups have important responsibilities in boosting the nation’s marine economy which also offers valuable opportunities.
