India : PGCIL awards Rs.458 crore contract to EMCO

Emco Ltd., the India based electrical goods manufacturing company, has secured Rs.458 crore contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL).
Under this contract, Emco will be responsible to implement 800kV HVDC transmission line tower package TW-05 from Champa to Kurukshetra. Emco will provide galvanized steel towers from its facility at Asoj in Gujarat.
This contract comes under the key 800kV HVDC overhead transmission line network, which will be deployed from Champa pooing station, Chhattisgarh to Kurukshetra, Haryana. It will convey 6000MW power from power stations in Chhattisgarh to Northern Grid.
