Mitsubishi Corp. now owns 50% of the Toul–Rosieres solar power plant.

The company has acquired a 50% stake in the facility from EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN) in northeastern France.

This is the first time that the Japanese giant has acquired a solar energy plant in France and entered into a collaboration to own a large scale power facility with EDF EN. The plant, which reached completion in May last year and launched operations in June, exists close to Nancy in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department.

Mitsubishi intends to continue to encourage solar power generation projects not only in France, but also in southern Europe.
