Littleton\'s Summit Natural Gas (SMG) has been allowed by Maine regulators to move ahead with the project for the construction of a natural gas pipeline through the central part of the state.

The project will cost $150 million and offer around 435 jobs.

The pipeline is expected to fulfill the needs of around 15,000 customers by its third year in operation.

Construction is scheduled for launch in spring.

The state\'s Public Utilities Commission granted the approval.
