Al Arabi Holding Group has disclosed that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a tender, worth $20.9m, to design, build and maintain new botanical gardens at Bayan Palace.
Al Amiri Diwan selected the firm to put up the gardens at the palace, which is the headquarters of Kuwait\'s Amir and the ruling family.
According to the firm, it hopes to make a 3% margin on the contract, which will be completed in nine months.
Sheikh Mubarak al Sabah constructed the palace on the site in 1904 and it has been expanded a number of times since. The Amiri Diwan building inside the palace\'s grounds now serves as the official offices of the Amir plus some 125 employees.
Al Arabi Holding Group has a number of subsidiary firms engaged in construction, engineering, agriculture, medical equipment, aviation and telecoms.
