Bigelow Aerospace has secured a $17.8 million contract from NASA to build, launch and install a habitat module at the International Space Station.

According to the federal space agency, it has awarded a $17.8 million contract to Bigelow Aerospace to build, launch and install a habitat module at the International Space Station.

The Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) will be tested by NASA for durability, to include capacity to withstand orbital temperatures, radiation and debris.
