UNITEL in ANGOLA to invest 130 billion kwanzas

Angolan telecommunications operator Unitel is planning for an investment of nearly 130 billion kwanzas towards expansion of its network until 2015, announced the director and assistant director-general of Unitel for the technical area, Amilcar Safeca on Thursday.
The investment to be carried out in the 2013-2015 period, is expected to boost voice and data services as well as to expand coverage of the network and commercial structure in the country, stated Safeca.
The director during the inaugural of the company’s supervision centre, stated that over the last three years same amount was invested towards expanding the fibre optic network to 12 of the country’s 18 province as well as to introduce the fourth generation network – LTE (4G) and to upgrade services and train human resources.
Presently, the company manages 9 million customers. Its network covers the capitals of 162 of the country’s 173 municipalities.
