Samsung Electronics America has assumed control of NeuroLogica, a leading computed tomography (CT) firm with headquarters in Danvers, Massachusetts. Terms of the deal were not revealed.

Famous for its portable CT scanners, the US firm deals in development of medical imaging products.

Tod Pike, senior vice president at Samsung\'s enterprise business division said, “The acquisition of NeuroLogica is another important step in the expansion of Samsung\'s medical imaging business and is a testament to our shared vision for a better and more complete healthcare experience.”

Earlier, in 2012, Samsung had revealed its plan to invest 23.3 trillion won by 2020 into 5 new growth businesses, which included medical equipment, biomedicine, solar cell, vehicle battery and light-emitting diode (LED).
