NAVCANatm, a division of NAV CANADA, and provider of advanced Air Traffic Management (ATM) solutions has extended the integration of the Harris LibertySTARâ„¢ voice communications system into the NAVCANsuite tower-automation products to support critical ATC communications.
As a result of the partnership between NAVCANatm and Harris, controllers can now access voice communications, in addition to safety-critical information provided by NAVCANinfo, on a single configurable display.
By integrating the LibertySTAR into the NAVCANinfo display, controllers have immediate access to the entire voice communication interface, allowing them to communicate with airlines and other operational staff, change frequencies, and access hotlines with ease. This consolidation reduces the number of monitors that the controller must scan, and the physical footprint of the workstation, enhancing efficiency and safety.
This integrated solution will support improved communications and coordination between ATC, airport and airline operations, as well as enhance the ability to provide remote services where appropriate.

The NAVCANsuite of integrated ATC products combines flight, surveillance and operational data, providing fast, reliable access to critical airport, tower and terminal ATC information. NAV CANinfo displays weather conditions, altimeter settings, NAVAID, runway and operations status, and reference information. In addition, NAVCANcontrol is an integrated component that handles airfield lighting status and control.
LibertySTAR provides air traffic controllers and other operational specialists with all air-to-ground and ground-to-ground communications with pilots and other ATC.
