Ghana : AECOM wins USD15.6M deal for WCGIDP

A major provider of professional technical and management support services for public and private clients in over 140 countries globally, AECOM Technology Corporation has won a USD15.6-million first-year annually renewable deal for the Western Corridor Gas Infrastructure Development Project (WCGIDP) from the Ghana National Gas Company.
The deal will see AECOM offer complete program management services, including consultancy and construction supervision as well as technical training and professional capacity building, during the whole process of the project.
The WCGIDP aims to boost employment, new infrastructure and economic development for Ghana while providing energy to the public at a much reduced cost and enhancing the competitiveness of the African country\'s industries. The project also supports Ghana\'s goal to become a petroleum-processing hub and a preferred exporter of energy in the region.
AECOM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John M. Dionisio, said : \'This is a great project that will directly benefit the local economy and communities in Ghana, and we are excited to play a key role in driving progress in the region\'.
